And the marriage of two countries is complete. My wife, as of Monday afternoon about 4:30pm is an American citizen…as well as a South African citizen. We’re still trying to figure out the benefits of actually becoming an American citizen. I think it all boils down to what box you’re able to check on some of those financial institution forms. Well, along with not having to file for a travel visa when you want to visit another country from the US besides heading back to SA. That make sense? I think that’s about it. However, she can sing a smokin’ Star Spangled Banner, complete with "Play Ball!". The day was made up of about 3 hours of waiting, 10 minutes of an interview and another hour or so listening to a freakin’ tortuous ceremony. It was painful, believe me.
I’m so proud of my woman though, she really has toughed this thing out over the years. I mean, she never even was planning to stay in the US until we got engaged. Now how wrong is that? We’d been dating for about a year and she was still planning on heading back to SA, without me if it came to it. How’s that for stringing a brutha along?! Well it didn’t work out that way, and I’d like to say we’re both glad.
So it’s behind us and I thought I’d update all of the 4 people who are reading my blog. If I didn’t tell you over the phone…now you know!!

congrats guys!
