Sine wave

That’s what the day was like.  Before today, there was yesterday.  Yeah, crazy I know.  I stayed at work until about 8:45, that’s pm, to work on a couple loans that I had to take in today.  Rush deals that had some decent complexity to them.  Can’t go into details cause that whole privacy act thing.  Anyway, I got to work at 7:15 and started working on them again for loan approvals which was at 9:00.  What this process involves is basically you get a loan request and do a whole bunch of financial analysis and general investigation into the deal, then you take it in front of our loan committee and they try to chew it apart and make sure you know what you’re doing.  It can be pretty trying at times.  Today was a little trying.  Parts were pretty difficult, but I came out on top. AAAAAahhhhhh!!! Elation.  I mean, it’s like fighting this mini-battle every week.  You prepare and crunch then you take it in and fight for it.  When you win, you get pats on the back, "Good Job!" they say and everyone’s happy.  When you lose, you might walk out of there looking like a moron.  Thankfully I haven’t had one of those.  So that lasted until about 11:00, then lunch with a customer, then hanging out.  Sweet blessed Friday afternoon!

On Friday afternoons it gets slow around the office so I usually bring my laptop in and my buddy John and I play some kind of game, ie. a first person shooter game.  We started with Far Cry, then Fear then Call of Duty 2 and now we’re playing Half Life 2.  Talk about a fun Friday afternoon.  Well today, after playing we decided to walk down the street to Scruffy Murphy’s and grab a tall glass of something cold and sudsy.  Nice.

Then John fills me in that he’s moving.  SUCK!  Dangit.  He’s taking a position with another Synovus affiliate.  It’s a great opportunity for him, but I’ll definitely miss that guy.  Ooops, dangit, got a run right now, but in my next post I’ll tell you more about John and why he’s a stud and why I want to be like him.  Peace
