I thought the 80′s movie "Breakin’" was cool. I wanted to be a break dancer, we all did , admit it. Well, I don’t even think my body would move like these dudes. That’s just crazy. I mean how do you balance on your elbow?
This week has been an emotional rollercoaster for reasons I can’t get into right now. That’s part of the reason I look like shiite in that picture. The other part is that I just finished watching "The Notebook" for the first time. Yes, I’m a sappy guy. It was a fantastic movie and super sad, but happy at the same time, kind of. When you mix that with the fact that I’m overworked and my emotions are on a freakin’ joy ride ( not like crying basket case mind you, more to the happy one minute, pissed off the next sort of thing). I mean, I live life like that, I’m a musician for crying out loud. We’re all like that.
Anyway, so we watched the notebook and it just wore me out. That’s why I look like this. Look at those glassy red eyes. You might be able to see the white dog
hair on my fleece where I was hugging our lab Barley like he was my son. It’s got me relishing how much I love my wife and how great our marriage is. I mean, it’s not like other marriages I see around. It is really more than what I see, but maybe that’s just me. I want to write our story down. We have a great story. I could like read it to her when we’re old.
Is anybody else affected by movies like this? Why am I feeling like I’m a pawn in the hands of Hollywood. Well, they actually did get me thinking about how much I love my wife. That can’t be all bad.
I'm not sure how many of you listen to public radio, but I've been listening for probably 6 years. One main reason is that Sunette and I don't have cable and my commute has ranged from 50 minutes to 30 minutes since 2000. That leaves plenty of time to listen.
Well, one of my favorite shows on NPR came on Sunday nights and was called "This American Life". Some of you may be avid listeners, but those that haven't heard it…let me introduce you to my favorite podcast. I haven't been much into podcasts since I got my 60gb 5g iPod back in January. However, I've discovered some great home recording podcasts and this little gem.
"This American Life" is an hour long show where they pick a topic and then basically do a radio documentary in 3 acts on that topic. For instance, one of my favorite shows is one they did on Hamlet. They found a maximum security prison where a group of prisoners where doing a drama presentation of Hamlet. Some of these guys were in for murder and all kinds of stuff. The guy that played Hamlet was in for murder and his thoughts on playing a murderer, as a murderer where just riveting. I know that sounds like a heavy subject, but this show does an amazing job of interjecting very funny elements, then completely dropping a serious bomb on you.
So, go grab the podcast from here , or use iTunes and search "This American Life". This is fantastic and enlightening entertainment. Join the club.
That's what I've been since November 5th. Here's the scoop…my dad's game
company, Zelosport , has been testing out a kiosk in the local mall. It has
worked extremely well. All the partners are covering the hours as much as
possible which means lots of overtime. I work 8 hours at my regular job, then
go work another 4 at the mall, at least 3 days during the week. Then I'll work
Saturday or Sunday, or both. Now that's just nuts. All work and no play makes
Jack a tired puppy who doesn't update his blog that much.
Well, I'm trying WriteToMyBlog to make posts from work. I couldn't get
Writely, read: Google Docs, to correctly post a hyperlink.
On a side note, I've got some new recording equipment which will be here
tomorrow. I've got a song that I need to record and I thought about posting the
progress so you guys could see and hear the work in process.

The CD's are priced at only $5 plus $3 shipping. Go ahead and pick one up for yourself and 500 of your closest friends.
