Game Night

Gone are the days of game night automatically meaning “Poker Night”. About once or twice a year my buddy Eric and I get together with several other guys in Atlanta for game night. And when I say game night I mean we all bring our computers, hook up to the same network and play first person shooter (FPS) games until the wee hours of the morning. If you’re not familiar with this, basically put, everybody’s playing the same game where you can see everyone else and you’re split up into teams.

A couple of our faves are CounterStrike:Source and Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. There’s nothing quite like some shoot-em-ups to get you going.

Eric and I used priceline to find a stupid cheap room in Buckhead and we crashed about 2am. Hit Waffle House and the Apple Store in the morning and headed on back. All in all an awesome night fraggin’ with some friends.

    Sounds like geek paradise!

What’s really funny is all the geek talk that goes on, ie. “yeah, this machine’s stocked with 6 nanoflop flux capacitor that makes the graphics just sick”, response “oh duuuuuude, I have been wanting to get one of those”.
