Addo Pt. 2
We're winding up our last day here in Hogsback before heading to Jo'burg for Sunette's sister's wedding. We'll be in Jo'burg for the weekend, then we fly back stateside on Monday. We're supposed to arrive in Atlanta on Tuesday night.
We've had a great last few days, going on a nice long hike yesterday and having a lazy day today. I've taken a few decent shots in the past couple of days, but they'll have to wait 'til tomorrow or the next day to post. It's been a little chilly these last few days, about 50 degrees or so during the day. Tonight we're huddled up around a fire, reading, drinking coffee and eating Brandy Tart. Mmmmmmmm. Needless to say, I didn't lose any weight on this trip for sure.
As promised, here are some shots from Sunday in Addo Elephant Park. I'll continue to post shots I've taken over the last few days, but my internet access may be limited a bit. We'll see.
All of these shots are from when we stumbled on a herd of about 40 elephants at a watering hole late Sunday afternoon. We sat and watched them for almost 2 hours. That's a lot of elephants.

Jonathan,
These shots are really good. I’m amazed at the elephant ones particularly. They look look like I could reach through the computer and touch them. Glad you got your lens before you left!
JP…these are so great! i’ll have to show these to ella (my 5 yr old)…she LOVES elephants!
hey, me again…i just enjoyed looking through all your SA pics….amazing!! i’m sure you have posted about your camera before, but i’m curious to know what you use? and what kind(s) of lense?
Hey Keri,
Sorry for the delay. I didn’t have internet access since last Thursday morning. I’m currently using an Olympus E-510 with both of the kit lenses that came with it and an additional 50mm f2.0 prime lens. The camera does a lot of things well and has some features only found on some of the higher dollar bodies. The lenses are actually very good kit lenses.
My only gripe with this camera is due to the smaller 4/3 sensor. It creates higher noise at higher ISO settings and it extends the depth of field a little, not great for portraits, but I offset it by using the 50mm f2.0 lens.
